Custom Components Company Completes Thomas Jefferson School of Law Project - San Diego, CA

Custom Components Company recently completed a project to supply custom stainless steel glass railing and handrails for the newly constructed Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, CA.

The project is a an eight story, 178,000 square foot facility in San Diego’s vibrant, exciting East Village where it sits just a few feet from Petco Park.  In addition to its iconic chevron roof, the structure is ultra modern, technologically cutting-edge and unique among American law schools.  It will feature “smart classrooms”, outdoor terraces for the students, a cafĂ© open to the public and a legal clinic.  The design and architecture of the new school are meant to be welcoming and friendly to everyone who sets foot in the building – with touches of whimsy as counterpoint to the serious business of training lawyers.  Gold Level certification under the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED program has been applied for.

The architect for the project was Fehlman La Barre Architects, Inc. of San Diego and the general contractor was Bovis Lend Lease.

Custom Components Company supplied and installed over 500 linear feet of stainless steel point mounted glass railing and handrail in the lobby and stainless steel cable railing and handrail in the classrooms and entry.
